El Dorado Hills, CA - EMED Technologies Corporation is pleased to announce that on December 21, 2012 the VersaRate™ Flow Rate Controller was given FDA clearance for interstate commerce within the United States. This supplements the recent European and Canadian approval and marks the completion of the regulatory process for EU, Canadian and US markets. VersaRate™ is a stand-alone device capable of delivering uids to a patient in a precise manner. There are no restrictions as to the type of drug that can be infused or infusion apparatus used in conjunction with the VersaRate to deliver fluids.

EMED has been working with clinicians to understand and respond to special infusion therapy requirements. As a result VersaRate™ was designed with unique features that enhance ow control performance levels not attainable by other ow regulators. VersaRate™ can be used in gravity ow settings as well as to improve functionality of non-electronic infusion pumps. Its applications include subcutaneous and intravenous administration. When used in conjunction with mechanical and elastomeric devices it may replace or be used with conventional single rate sets for additional levels of ow control.

The patent pending VersaRate™ is an addition to EMED’s infusion therapy line of products which represent a signicant step forward in the company’s global strategy. VersaRate™ is an important supplement to EMED Soft-Glide ™ subcutaneous line of products and it is conducive to optimizing subcutaneous administration of Immunoglobulin.
